Kevin Leo: Musician
Kevin Leo is a renowned South African crossover light classical tenor. He released his debut album in 1995. Kevin has performed in many countries such as England, Australia and Croatia. In June 2006, he competed in the international opera contest – VALSESIA MUSICA – near Milan, Italy and ended up in fourth position. Afterwards, at the winners concert, the President of the competition named Kevin: “Pavarotti e Pocco” or “Little Pavarotti”. This name stuck and today he is known as South Africa’s own Pavarotti! Kevin has recorded 10 albums and has shared his immense talent, love and passion for music with the world. Kevin has also performed shows in collaboration with Loyiso Bala, Jennifer Jones, Johnny Clegg, Patrizio Buane, Judith Sephuma, Laurika Rauch, the SA Youth Choir, to name a few. Performing as a professional South African singer for over 21 years, Kevin is popular for his comfortable, honest and natural approach on stage as well as his diverse repertoire of songs. With his majestic and magic tenor voice, Kevin takes his audience on a musical journey with all his personal favourites, featuring songs of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Pavarotti, Gé Korsten, Bing Crosby, including other popular genres: Neapolitan music, well-known opera arias and operetta favourites. Many years of experience in the entertainment industry makes it possible for Kevin to read his audience with little effort and to select the most suitable choices for pure enjoyment of the total audience. His sense of humour also makes him a very popular choice for any event. He is a preferred choice for corporate events and was privileged to perform for Nelson Mandela.
